Fall here in Dallas is an excellent time for family portraits. The weather is still pleasant, and the changing leaves provide for a lovely backdrop. You should start arranging your forthcoming photo shoot immediately, whether you’re seeking for a lovely family portrait or simply need photos for your holiday cards.
So now that October is finally here, let’s pull out the pumpkin spice and everything nice! My favorite photo colors to wear during the fall are yellow, burgundy, olive green, brown, and orange! What about you? Ada Lee Photography is a Dallas Fort Worth photographer ready to capture your fall photos. Here is some info and you can read more on how to dress for your fall photo!
Avoid overly saturated and bold colors, as they distract in the photo. Look for MUTED versions of the same color. For example, if you have a bright hot pink shirt, try a muted dusty rose instead.
You will feel self-conscious wearing uncomfortable clothing. This is not an ideal scenario for taking beautiful photographs. If your family is dressed comfortably, they will be more relaxed, have more fun, and get into the atmosphere of the photo shoot.
This will give your images a more interesting look, plus it will protect your children if they spill something on their clothes during the photo shoot. If you’re doing two looks, you might want to schedule for a full hour. During the holiday months, Ada Lee Photography also provides mini sessions, mini sessions are up to 15-20 minutes 1 look and you pay only for what you get (example: family photo album, family cards, or wall arts for your family).
Accessories like hats and scarves can give your images more flair. You can also add variety to your photos by changing up your accessories throughout the session.
This is especially crucial if your family portrait session happens in the fall. Temperature may be significantly cooler by the end of the shoot than it was at the start, or an unexpected storm may arrive mid-shot. To keep your family comfortable, you should be prepared for all types of weather.
Clothing gives your family photos a lot of personality. Do you want a sophisticated portrait? If so, go for soft, flowing fabrics in neutral colors. Do you want your images to have a lighthearted feel to them? If that’s the case, bright colors may be just what you need. Do you want to dress your children in matching outfits? If that’s the case, make a strategy ahead of time. Let us help you be prepared with your fall photos here in Ada Lee Photography!
