Graduation is near! Make sure you are ready!
Best wishes for your forthcoming graduation! The moment has finally arrived! Just a few finals, graduation, and, of course, your senior photo sessions! Having senior photos are a great opportunity to show off your personality! You can also use these photographs to show your friends and family what you’ve been up to and what’s important to you in your graduation!
Don’t worry if you’re unsure how to get the most out of your photoshoot. Ada Lee Photography is a Forth Worth senior photographer, Dallas senior photographer, Frisco senior photographer, Plano senior photographer, and Highland Park senior photographer ready to capture your milestones!
Here are some ways by Ada Lee Photography on how to prepare for a senior photo session.
Go through your closet and figure out what to wear. Let’s talk clothing!
Check your clothes ahead of time to make sure they aren’t soiled or faded, and hang your outfits to avoid wrinkles. You can bring a variety of outfits to the portrait session, so there’s no need to settle on just one. Bring high school jacket, instrument or essentials that speaks to your character!
You will need a minimum of 2 outfits or three. Maximize time by coming dressing in one look and then changing after that look, the cap and gown you will need to provide.
The cap and gown is the 3rd/ 4th final look! (Example: you bring 2 outfits, its your 3rd look if 3 out fits it’s your 4th look)
Become comfortable with your photographer. Express yourself!
Be yourself! Bring things that speak to your characteristics! If you are in sports or do any extra curricular activities bring these items or things of interest. College students or continuing studies may bring things the RN or Attorney items that speak to the field that they are going into!
Also, be comfortable with your senior photographer. This will allow you to hear their ideas and comments as well as express your own, with the objective of creating stunning images together. Do not be afraid to ask questions, even during the shoot.
Bring someone with you
Bring a close friend or family member if that person can help make you relax and take a natural picture and to provide encouragement and assist with hair and wardrobe difficulties.
Set an appointment with a hair stylist or a barber & your make up artist
Grooming! Ladies this is in investment into a milestone for the future, you want to make sure you have your hair done and proper make up application for the photos. If you do not wear make up even a light look is great and a professional will know exactly what to do to give you that extra little pop! Gents, make sure you hair is trimmed with a nice cut. Both ladies and gents need to make sure the nails are clean and ready to go for the camera!
Go for a natural look that represents you and how others remember you and amp up the trends you wear on a regular basis. Play around with your hairstyles a few days before the session to ensure you get the appearance you want. Make sure to get your haircut at least a week ahead of time to allow your hair to adjust and look natural.
Make your makeup appointments and get on your makeup artist’s schedule as soon as possible. Bring your makeup to the shoot so you may touch it up as needed.
Plan Accordingly
Get rest. Don’t come hangry. Make sure you’ve eaten. Something light especially if you are nervous! Plan to be at least 10 – 15 minutes ahead of the actual scheduled time.
Get a full meal once done to celebrate this milestone
Set the tone for the day!
No serious conversations! Try to refrain from discussing heavy topics before your session. If you’ve had a disagreement the night before, your mood may still be a little down.

Relax, Have some fun! It’s a party!!!
